Sorry all for the lack of updates reviews and posts i have been traveling alot these past few weeks.

We are still very much committed to giving our readers the best possible reviews on the newest and best skate shoes available on the market today but we cannot do this mission alone. We need more participation from our followers if at all possible to widen our range of shoes that have a review done on them. As it is only me and two others who are writing these reviews and testing out new shoe models it is difficult for us to do this all by ourselves, We have to 1) spend our own money on shoes sometimes even ones we dont like just so we can be objective when reviewing them and not just giving a good review because we like the brand, 2) Spend time wearing them to get the info we need to be able to write the review.

We have had a few people send in good reviews that we then posted but we are not getting enough good ones from you guys, They cant be reviews along the lines of “oh these shoes are awesome they fit good and i can do tricks” we are looking for a certain type of format and it has to be from your own experience with the shoes not just what you have heard or think of them or the brand. So if you are willing to take the time to write something that we can post on here the format we are looking for is pretty much Style, Comfort, Durability, Price and give each a rating and then an overall rating.

We are not asking you to go out and buy shoes to do this by any means you could write one on the shoes you are already wearing in your daily life or when you board, As long as they are skate brand shoes, It doesnt even matter if they are new or old models any review would be helpful in helping us give the public a good idea of what they would be getting if they bought a certain model of shoe.

We are also in need of some companies who maybe willing to donate some shoes that they would like to have reviewed by us, We are wanting to start doing a video portion when we review them showing the shoes in action and giving a general walk thru of the shoe. I figured in the mean time of me testing out new shoes and writing reviews and going thru the reader reviews i would post one that i got awhile ago, the reader doesn’t know the model of the shoe but they are Element shoes.

Hi SSC i wrote a review for these shoes i purchased recently for you guys hope its good enough to be posted.

These Shoes Are Made For Walkin’

I purchased these shoes a couple of weeks ago mainly because i needed a new color to match some of my other clothes so when i seen these on sale i thought i scored the trifecta but soon realized how wrong i was. I dont know the model name of these since i chucked out the box before i could read the name off of the side but they are Element shoes that i purchased from a skate shop that only sells boading shoes, So when i seen them on sale i thought SWEET im gonna get a pair of shoes that are great looking and will match my stuff but are also comfortable and are meant to board in !! but i was only correct on one of them. Here is my review.

Comfort. These shoes are comfortable more so then i thought they would be since i dont find element shoes to be the most comfortable. They have a thin tongue which i dont usually like i prefer the thick one since it helps hold your foot in the sweet spot without having to cut off the circulation in your feet by tying them so tight. The insole in these shoes has very good arch support and are wide enough to fit even the widest footed person since they have a little stretch to them. The grip is pretty consistent along the length of the shoe giving you great foot support for walking. Where these shoes failed to impress was boarding, They are far from what i would consider a boarding shoe and my feet hurt every time i would wear them to board.

Comfort Rating 4.5 for walking 3 for Boarding

Style. I really like the style of these shoes they have a old school look to them with nice color combinations and lines. I dont know how many different colors these come in or if they come in any different patterns at all, But i can say i really liked the look of mine and can only give a rating based on the ones i own.

Performance. This is where i was mad, The shoes are made by a skateboarding company and are meant to be worn well boarding but i couldnt imagine a shoe farther away from even the  cheapest skate shoe iv ever worn. They hurt your feet to wear when boarding, they dont breathe at all and they seem to lock in moisture when your feet sweat giving you blisters and rashes. They perform good when your walking and thats about it i would never recommend these shoes to anyone who is going to wear them for boarding they are eye candy with a boarding companies name and logo on them to bring up the price. Its almost like Coke or Pepsi went and bought no name cola took pepsi or coke stickers put them on the cans and sold them as if they was pepsi or coke lol.

Performance Rating 1 for Boarding 4 for Walking

Price. I cant speak much to the price of these shoes since i don’t know the model name to see what they go for online and compare them to what i paid in stores but i bought mine on sale for 45$ original price 79$. Not knowing how many different colors patterns styles etc or the online price i cant really give a rating for price but if your looking for a boarding shoe that you can wear all day long to walk in etc these would not be a good choice they lack boarding performance and comfort.

Price Rating off of the little i can base it on 3.5

Globe "The Delta" Shoe Review

Time for another Review

Globe's The Delta.

I just recently got these shoes from one of my local skate shops thru a contest and have been wearing them the past few days and so far am impressed with the performance and quality of them.

Comfort. The comfort of these i find is a little less snug then the normal skate shoe making it perfect for the bigger footed person. They have a nice cushion between the insole and grip for premium impact support and i dont know what it is but when i go to do flip tricks with them it seems like im getting extra padding/support in the toe area. i wore them all day yesterday and only ended up with sweaty feet so id say they are pretty good for right out of the box wearing no need to break them in. Comfort rating is 4

Style. There isnt much to say about the style of these, they dont come in many color choices or combo's so really the style of them i find a little poor but they are geared towards performance so i guess style lacks due to that. Style Rating 2.5

Durability. i cant speak much to the durability of them yet as iv only worn them twice now but they dont feel cheap. They are Ryan Decenzo's Pro model so the performance is in check the comfort is in check and im sure for the enthusiast or everyday boarder these shoes should hold up good. The materials are quality and since the style lacks so much it leads me to believe they engineered these well. Durability Rating 4

Price. I got mine for free thru a contest at a local skate shop but looking on Globe's website i see they are about $70. Being a pro model id say thats a pretty decent price as pro models take alot longer to make then the whole skate branded style shoes that you couldnt Ollie with if you was Tony Hawk. So the price rating is a 4

DC Court Graffik Review

Well the first shoe i am going to review is one of the most common shoes in the dc line
one of my favorites and one of the most worn even by people who do not skateboard

what can i say about this shoe, it is awesome. the price is very cheap as most of the time
one style or another is on sale somewhere or another i think in my collection i have 4 or 5
different pairs. the shoe style ranges from different colors to patterns to both so the style
factor of them is great u can buy them to match almost any style and color of clothes and this
specific model being one of the oldest continuing models in the dc line there is many different
styles to choose from especially if u dont necessarly buy this years model because from year to year
there is different patterns n colors so if u want a stylish shoe with a good selection of colors and patterns
then this one is for you and i give it a 5 in style.
the comfort level on these shoes is also amazing they are great for either skateboarding or walking all day long
they have the thick tounge on them and that’s one thing i like because of the way i tie my shoes (lace em up then tie off the laces on either side in knots n then cut the remainder off n burn to not frey)
the comfort level i would give another 5 because i have walked all day long in these shoes and my feet felt perfectly fine afterwords.
if u have big feet these shoes are a wider style also the sides of them do have give in them to form to your feet after wearing for a lil bit.
the price factor in these shoes as i stated before is more then reasonable taking every factor into play they are worth the money
and the money isnt that much compared to other shoes in its class from different companies. again like i said
if u look around u will find these shoes usually on sale somewhere maybe not dc but check your local shoe stores
if not there check the online stores, iv always found them on sale somewhere so the price rating on these is another 5
durability in these shoes, well i do have a pair that iv had for 4 years and still look brand new but that’s because i
take care of my shoes n have more then one pair so im not always wearing them, but taking that aside i would say the
durability level in them is ok if your using them for day to day walking around but if u are using them to skateboard
then u will tear these shoes up pretty quickly the pair i have that i use for walking in lasted in great shape for along time
the pair i used to board tore up in 3-3 1/2 weeks of boarding everyday for a hour. so the durability rating i would give these
i will break into 2 parts. if u using for skateboarding it would be a 1, if your using for daily life stuff then id give a 4
all in all i would buy these shoes again given the wide selection of different designs and the price point
i wouldnt wear them to board at all anymore but i would buy them for getting around in.

DC Frenzy Review

The DC Frenzy well this shoe was one of my favorite in the dc line it is visually nice and comfortable (for awhile). lets get into the review so i can tell u all about them.

These Shoes visually are beautiful they have a carbon flip pad and the thick tounge, they also have a airbag in the heel for extra comfort. These shoe’s could be used for skateboarding or walking as they do the job on both quite well i found myself the cool lil carbon flip pad to be a hinderance more then a bonus but that may not be the case for everyone. If your looking for a good walking around shoe these are very comfortable well kept in good shape in the comfort  rating i would give it a 4

The shoes quality of these shoes is pretty good although i did find after walking in them for awhile the backing in the heal part started to wear down exposing a plastic part that eventually started to dig up my heals pretty badly. the shoe laces also are not the greatest the grip lasts while on the bottom of the shoe but other then that this shoe is more of a visual rather then quality driven shoe i would say so id give it a quality rating of 3

The price of these shoes when i purchased them was $119 so they are on the more expensive side but if u want a nice looking shoe you wont be wearing all day long then its worth it they are definitely pretty nice looking but functionality and quality wise they wouldn’t really be worth that kind of money in my eyes. so the price rating i would have to also give a 3

Durability, well that was the major draw back on these for me, i have shoes that are 6-7 years old that look brand new still and these shoes for me with normal usage for about a month and a half i found a few flaws, like i said earlier with the heel material wearing down and it exposing a plastic piece that rips up your heal and the laces breaking in half so id give a durability rating of 3.

All in all these shoes are nice on the eyes hurting in the pocket and poor in quality i didn’t find the special boarding features to do anything for me and they didnt last me very long. They are very nice and there is a bunch of different colors and styles to this model of shoe so the selection is ok but i wouldnt personally buy them again unless they drastically dropped in price. i wouldnt recommend these shoes to anyone unless they only cost 50-60$ as they dont last long even when just being worn for walking.

DVS Milita JJ Review

The DVS Militia JJ

The Shoes are great i loved them the minute i laid eyes on them probably because iv been a lugz and timberland fan my entire youth.

These shoes are more then just shoes and are better then they look lets get into the review.

Price, well sometimes u can find these shoes on sale but at most shoe retailers they go for around $109 but they are worth it. The shoe also has a shoe/boot style and they are more then just a shoe they are designed by john Jackson to withstand all sorts of weather and the horrors it can throw at you, they are water resistant, they are warm, they have cold grip technology.

Im going to wreck the rest of the review just in the price part so lets just say the price is well worth the shoe and sometimes you can get them on sale so price rating is a 5.

Quality, the quality of these shoes is incredible they are built to last and take whatever you and mother nature can throw at them. They are great for all seasons and are made with some great features like the cold grip technology so when your out in winter with these on and its slippery your rubber grips wont turn the sidewalk into a skating rink. They are water resistant with taped seams and even a stash pocket in the tongue !! quality rating is a 5+

Comfort, these shoes are one of the most comfortable shoes iv ever worn at least in the top 5 of my all time favorite. With all the special features on them and the quality put into them it makes for a super comfortable shoe. When i snowboard in the winter time after a couple of hours on the slopes my feet hurt quite often and i go from my snowboard boots to these shoes and my feet feel instantly better. comfort rating is a 5

style, The Style of these shoes is very eye catchy especially if you like lugz or timberland but that’s isnt the only color/style they come in they have a boot version and different designs and colors so thats always an extra bonus. so style rating is a 5

All in all these are one shoe i would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for a shoe or summer or winter the price is a higher price point but they are well worth it you will not be disappointed i wasnt and iv even bought in bulk since i find they sell out fast so i buy myself 2 pairs at a time haha. But yeah if you are trying to find the perfect shoe this is one of them.

DC Centric Kalis S Review

Well DC being one of my favorite brands i figured id review one of my newer purchases the DC Centric S Kalis

This Shoe was rated one of the best skate shoes of 2012 and its no wonder why it is an amazing shoe. lets get into the review

Comfort, these shoes are very comfortable they have a EVA in sole that feels like your walking on memory foam. also the low pro air bags and side vents to let your feet cool down. the one thing i liked in other dc shoes that this shoe lacks is the tongue it is a very thin tongue where as most of the shoes i have purchased from dc the tongue was thick and i liked that but the comfort level of these shoes  the tongue aside is amazing and i will give it a rating of 4 one con for this model of shoe for those with wide feet is these shoes are quite narrow so they might not feel as comfortable to you and thats why i rated it a 4

Style, Well the style of these shoes i like it isnt a loud style its more of a minimalist style of shoe no big logos or flashy designs although there is some different styles that have stuff like that this version of the model is the kind i like. The All Super Suede material used for the shoe is also a nice touch. Given the amount of different designs for this model and the minimalist design im going to give it a 4.5 rating for style

Quality, At first when i received them i thought wow these feel cheap but after wearing them for a few weeks i regret thinking that. these shoes defiantly feel like they are well put together and the extra touches like the air vents etc make them even better. The boarding experience with these is second to none out of the shoe collection i personally have right now although the suede will probably get ripped up i will still give the quality rating a 4.5

Price, well the price on these compared to many other models from DC is more then affordable and reasonable i paid 75$ for mine when i got them and that is a bargain for a shoe that u can comfortably walk and skate in and not expect the skating to destroy them as with most other dc shoes i find they are more built towards the skateboarding fan not the skateboarder so the price rating on these shoes is a 5

DC Command FX Review

Well time for another great shoe to review today it will be another one of my favorites the DC Command FX

This shoe is great all aspects about it are wonderful, except for skateboarding. Although it has a nice feel to it when boarding i found they do not take very kindly to the wear and tear of boarding life.

Style. The style of these shoes color combos, patterns etc aside are very catchy to the eye. When i first seen these shoes it was a friend of mine who had bought them and i could not take my eyes off of them all night long they are very nice and catchy.

The different color combinations make it easy to find a pair that will match your wardrobe the different patterns give them that extra edge, there is a couple of different models of this shoe with subtle differences but all in all the styling of this shoe is great. I think they used the iconic court graffik as an inspiration for these with the well known offset DC logo wrapping around the back of them. It is easy to rate the style on these shoes because they come in such wide color combos and patterns you can find a pair that will make anyone happy so i can easily give this model a style rating of 5.

Comfort. The comfort of these shoes is also another plus they hug your feet when you wear them almost like the thickness of the tongue and material are pillows hugging your feet. The air bag in the heel also makes impact when boarding easy to handle so a day of boarding doesnt wreak havoc on your heels. Unlike some shoe company’s and other models in the DC line they stuck with the thick tongue and thats one thing i really like. comfort rating for these shoes is a 4.5 and only because a person with a wider foot i dont think would find these shoes as comfortable as a person with normal or narrow feet.

Durability. The durability of these shoes is questionable, i found mine not really stand up to use for skateboarding my grip wore out very quickly and it started to separate from the shoe. Also the laces are those like round style laces that snap easily if you have to tie your shoes every time you wear them, but i did buy another pair because i liked the style and look of them so much and i only used them to walk in and they have not given me any problems at all. The durability rating is kind of hard to give on these shoes so i will do it like this. if you are going to use them for boarding the durability rating is a 2 if you are going to use them for just walking then it would be a 4. i would suggest buying normal style laces if another pair didn’t come with them,  that way you have a extra set incase they originals snap.

Price. these are on the higher end of the price scale i think when i purchased mine they cost me $110 but i do know that there is cheaper ones now that are color combo only the patterned ones are a little more expensive and then there is the ken block signature etc that run a little more. But taking into account the range of selection on style and the comfort level and durability i would say that they are worth it if you just walk in them but still a bit pricey. price rating i would have to give a 3.5 only because iv seen some equally nice shoes cheaper with different brands, but there is a lot of times sales on later models (you can find the 2012 version for cheaper then the 2013 etc)

Element Winston Cup Review

Well iv been reviewing DC a lot so i figured id throw in another brand Elements Winston Cup Shoe

This shoe caught my eye when i seen it on the rack at the shoe store especially since it was made with a lot of hemp material so i figured i would give it a try and see. Element doesnt have as big of a shoe selection as some other companies but most of their models are quality made.

Comfort. Well the comfort of these shoes was good,,,, for the first few weeks, then the backing in them started to fray and expose my heel to constant rubbing from the shoes moldings and bunched up material. The hemp that is incorporated into the shoe also limits how much the shoe forms to your foot after wearing it for a period of time. With me i like my shoes to act like a baseball glove when u first buy it they are stiff but as u work it in it forms to your hand becoming more comfortable used then it did new. Well these shoes that did not happen. I am a fan of hemp made clothing but i would say in shoes iv never had a good experience out of all the shoes iv had that had some portion of hemp in them. comfort rating would be a 2.5

Style. Well given it had a hemp portion in it that they me to them, when buying them there was only a couple different choices mainly just different colors but doing some research for this review iv found that there is many different color combos etc. im going to keep the style portion short they are decent looking shoes nothing super special not too flashy not too plain so ill give them a style rating of 3.5

Durability. The durability of these shoes is not good.. they did not last me very long at all before wearing them caused my feet pain. the backing in them worn down very quickly giving me blisters and eventually making it painful to wear at all and that was only maybe a month after purchase. the hemp portion of the shoe also i feel made a impact of the durability of these shoes as the threading that holds the tread to the body came undone thus causing them to separate. I was not very pleased with these shoes even though i liked the looks of them. Boarding was the only plus side for these shoes they did stand up to boarding for the first 2 weeks probably due to the hemp even though that is probably the reason they fell apart later on. i would give a Durability rating of 2.5

Price. The price of these shoes was the major plus side of these shoes with all of the problems i had and complaints i only paid 45$ for them regular price was 79$ so that was a plus for 45$ if your are just going to walk in them maybe not wear them everyday or want a cheaper brand name skate shoe for a younger kid thats feet are still growing then these would be a good deal. they are again on sale right now on the element website for 45$, heres a link http://ca.shop.elementbrand.com/p/shoes/all-shoes/winston-cup?style=FMWANWCP&clr=BMP

The price rating of these shoes is a 4 and only because im taking into account that i would buy these shoes for youth whos feet are growing and wont be wearing them for long before they need a new pair of shoes, and that they are only $45.

Globe Encore Review

i bought these shoes specifically for boarding and was not disappointed.
Comfort. The comfort of these shoes even though they look minimal is spectacular, the padding in the in sole is amazing u feel very little in the way of impact when doing tricks on your board and i have yet to get a blister wearing these for hours on end boarding. The material used all around is comfortable really i cant say how comfortable these shoes are dont let the minimalist look trick you into thinking these shoes are not comfortable. so comfort rating is a 5

Style. well they only had one design when i bought them, i have seen a couple other colors but overall they are a minimalist design more for performance then to catch the eye. They do match with almost any type of dress wether its pants or shorts in any color so that’s a bonus but really they are a minimalist design kind of plain so the style rating is a 3.

Durability. This is where these shoes thrive they are top notch with durability and performance. They may look cheap but they are a ferrari in a kia body pretty much lol i found the durability of these shoes to surprise me because i kind of bought them expecting them to not last me long but i still have them and they are still in good working shape. Iv had to replace the laces due to grip tape wrecking the originals but hey lol, the performance of these shoes are perfect for a skateboarder or if you just want a comfortable pair of shoes to walk in these would be a great pair especially for the cost. Durability rating is a 5+

Price. When i seen the cost of these shoes i took the look of them into account and thought yeah they are prolly crappy n dont really have any style to them no wonder they are so cheap, but with the performance and comfort and durability these shoes could cost more then they do and i would easily buy them again for a boarding shoe i paid 55$ (on sale) i believe they are 65$ on the globe website and they are running a fathers day 25% off sale so you maybe able to get them for dirt cheap right now, if i was to suggest one shoe for under 70$ or boarders these would be them. the price rating i am giving a 5 as i still have these shoes in good working order after abusing them so i would suggest them to anyone who skates daily n doesnt want to have to buy a new pair of shoes every single month.

DC Pure Review

The DC Pure

I Figured i would do a review on one of the most affordable skate shoes that has a wide selection of different color combos and patterns that pretty much anyone could afford.

Style. The shoe itself if only a design that is one color is pretty minimalist looking and not very attractive. But rest assured if you can only find one or two different looking styles of this model at your local store go online and you will find tons of different colors, color combos, and patterns, these shoes have a very big selection of combo’s for the person looking for certain colors or looking for a cheap pair of shoes to match certain clothes only. The design of the shoe itself is not very catchy the pair i bought was just one color (grey) but i bought them on sale and just for winter so i wouldnt wreck my more expensive pairs from the snow and road salt. the style rating i am giving these shoes is not based on the design of the shoe but based on how many different color combo’s u can get 4.5

Comfort. I was quite surprised on how the comfort level of these shoes when i started to wear them i didnt think i would like them as much because i like the DC shoes that have the thick tongue n these dont. You cant take out the in sole or at least in the pair i got i couldnt so you cannot put a better in sole in them and that was my only complaint about them, The in sole after wearing them for awhile compresses and if your feet sweat the in sole absorbs the sweat and doesnt really dry out completely so you end up getting damp socks your next long walk. But for the price these shoes deserve a comfort rating of 4

Durability. I bought these shoes for winter wearing so i would not wreck my good shoes from road salt and snow etc, And thru the full winter and up until today i still have them and still wear them on a daily basis when i got to do something i dont want to wear more expensive pair in eg mowing the lawn or bmxing. I have not worn these shoes to board so i cannot say how they stand up to the rigours of board use. But as i said in the comfort part the one draw back is the in sole kind of compressing and holding moister for along time. But being as i bought these shoes for winter and they lasted and are still in more then good shape i would give them a durability rating of 4.5

Price. The price of these shoes when i purchased them was 40$ thru a sale DC was holding for this specific model. I had signed up for DC’s newsletter and randomly i will get emails about limited time sales etc and these were one of the sale items i purchased that way. I dont know what they cost right now but i know if you look online not just on DC website but others you will find them on sale or for around 40$ usually with a decent selection of colors. For how long they have lasted me with abusive wearing, and how many different styles you can purchase the price point on these shoes is perfect for someone looking for a cheap pair of shoes that are reliable or for a parent looking for a cheaper pair of shoes for a kid with still growing feet. All this taken into account the price rating is 5

Vans Chukka Low Review

The Vans Chukka Low  Another Great Boarding Shoe At Low Cost.

This is one of those low cost skate shoes that are lower cost and perfect for boarding.

Comfort. Well my comfort review will be based solely on boarding experience for this shoe. I bought these shoes at first thinking i would only wear them with certain clothes because they looked like denim shoes. I was quite surprised on the comfort of them considering how cheap they were to purchase the shoe has a different style of in sole im not familiar with but was quite happy with comfort wise. These shoes are very narrow and wouldnt suggest them to anyone with wide feet as they will hurt you especially with boarding. But my boarding experience with these ended up being the biggest surprise, iv always found vans shoes to be cheap and not boarding worthy and thought that they was making a cheap version of a skateboard look shoe to appeal to posers and people who like skate shoes but not willing to spend money, but these shoes broke that stereotype for me as my boarding experience was more then enjoyable well wearing these shoes. The comfort rating is a 4 based on boarding alone

Style. The description on the Vans Website says that are a minimalist design n i agree but it suits the shoe i think. Taking into account that your boarding with these they dont need to have logos n be flashy. There is a very different color combo’s too choose from and that may help if you like stand out shoes but other then that they are very minimal and are not catchy to the eye. i would only be able to give a style rating of 3.5

Durability. Well i cant speak to the durability too much of these shoes as i have only owned them for a short period of time but they have been my main boarding shoe for a few weeks and less a few nicks in the fabric i am not experiencing any problems. The insoles are comfortable and holding up, the heel area isnt wrecked and my laces havent frayed yet. As i have only had them a lil while i wont go on about durability because truly i havent put them thru any sort of paces to be able to speak on it much. Durability rating is Undetermined

Price. The price point on these is good i paid 60$ and seen them after i purchased them for 45$ on another website so they are relatively affordable. Again for a boarding shoe they are well worth the price and cheap enough if they wreck after a time you can easily afford new ones. another good group of potential purchasers are moms looking for cheap skate shoes for a growing kid or someone looking for just a nice n cheap pair of boarding shoes. Price rating is a 4.5

Supra Owen Low Top Review

I found these shoes to be a little bit of a disappointment from other supra shoes i owned. heres why.

I will post the only good thing i liked about them first.

Comfort. The comfort of these shoes is amazing they have a mesh lining, Foam grip, super lightweight and flexible. The Shoes mold to your feet after breaking them in and i always love that. They are great shoes for jogging in or when needing to walk very long distances. And this is where the good stops lol. I hate the raised heel guard at the back, it ends up bending and like rubbing ur heel to all hell causing blisters or wrecking your socks. But thats the one comfort complaint, wide footed people could wear these comfortably also. comfort rating 4

Style. The style of them is ok i guess it isnt anything super special the special materials used make it a little cooler. But the style is sort of the prototypical skate shoe and when i bought them on the website there was only 3 different options to choose from so there isnt many different color combo’s. Not to mention the combo’s they did have are LOUD like a bright yellow and blue etc, the style of them is not great but i wont diss it too much and will give a style rating of 3.5

Durability. Well with all these special technologies in them and the foam grip makes these shoes completely fall apart when using them boarding. They literally lasted me 1 month. Although i dont know if these are designed for boarding they are a boarding shoe company and would expect them to be capable of boarding without it wrecking the entire shoe. My grip tape took the foam grip and destroyed it. Also the mesh liners, all in all these shoes should not i repeat NOT be used for boarding. Durability rating 2.5

Price. For the limited abilities of these shoes the price is not worth the trouble. i paid 90$ but they say 80$ now on the website. The cool lightweight flexible etc technologies are cool but i dont feel they warrant the price they are going for as all you can safely use these for is walking and even then with the foam grip if it gets overly wet it starts to degrade easy. the price is not worth the shoe and i wouldnt recommend these to anyone looking at supra brand right now, They are a great shoe company but i feel these to be a complete let down and under achievers. price rating 1

Emerica Herman G6 Review

Today im going to review another one of the better boarding shoes i have seen recently, Emerica’s Herman G6

The Herman G6 is a quality in and out for the daily border, i found these shoes to be above average on every skate shoe standard boarding wise. Although i have not worn these shoes much outside of the skate park im going to review them as a boarding shoe only.

Comfort. The insides of these shoes are comparable to none, on the website it calls its in sole made of high rebound g6 lightweight foam, i dont know what all that means but i can say that when i wear them it feels like im putting my foot into a bowl of jello as the shoe instantly hugs my foot in all area’s, where you normally wouldnt feel support you do with this shoe. The tongue of the shoe has straps on them so it always stays in the center of the shoe, perfect for when your doing flip tricks. Also the tongue according to the website has airflow technology incorporated into it allowing for perfect venting and in my experience it definitely works as i never get overly dampened feet. These shoes are narrow even for a narrow footed person and i guess that would be the only draw back but i think thats what makes them hug your foot so well, but taking that into account the comfort rating is a 4.5

Durability. Skate shoes often get torn up very easily when they are a fabric style shoe like these ones as when doing any tricks landed or bailed your shoes are rubbing up against grip tape which is pretty much sand paper for shoes. But with these shoes the area of the shoe you use for ollies etc has a cover that protects the toe and Ollie area of the shoe from overly wearing down. The grip of the shoe also is designed in a way that reduces the wear from the grip tape and heel drag. Iv taken these shoes out around 10-15 times to the park and they almost look new other then a few nicks and scratches that are inevitable but so far i can see these shoes durability lasting quite awhile Durability rating is a 5

Style. Well i cant say much towards the style end of these shoes as they are a minimalist design and resemble the dc centric kalis model. I bought mine in red but i still find them nice on the eyes even though they mite not stand out in a crowd. The downer is there is not many different colors or combo’s to choose from when buying these shoes. Style rating is a 3.5

Price. Higher end price point on these shoes i dont think i would recommend them for the average person who just likes skate shoes and doesnt wear them to skate in as the price really is driven by the technology inside them for board use not walking comfort. But for a board use shoe the price i paid was 79.99 that was during a sale i think they are listed at 85$ thru the emerica website, But if you want a great boarding shoe and compare prices to many other shoes that are designed for boarding they run mid range in price. Again these are not shoes that are flashy and are designed for the enthusiast who just likes to wear skate stuff they are actual skate shoes thus the technology and design is geared towards performance on a skate board so i would say the price is justified. Price rating is a 4.5

Hi Skate Central im from Victoria B.C and we do alot of skateboarding down here so we need shoes that will perform right and standup to a thrashing.

The current shoe i am rockin is the Ipath Combi. Its a hightop it has perfect arch support and a unique feel of balance when you are on the board. These shoes go being my daily boading routine i wear them to school and to work so they do handle daily life very well.

They are not shoes that by any means are going to attract alot of attention when you wear them but that isnt the point of a performance shoe for boarding. Being from B.C we take alot of pride in our country side and ecosystem and with Ipaths responsible materials use makes wearing these shoes have an added bonus since i know my carbon footprint isnt gona be as big as my real one lol.

I first wore these when longboarding too and from work and found the control they helped me have over my board to be over exceptional i previously wore a pair of Element shoes and found them to be a vanity piece not made for boarding just using a boarding companies name to make you look cool. I have had these shoes and have worn them on a daily basis with boarding school and work all packed into each day for the past 4 months and the worst thing thats happened to me is my laces have broke wich ipath replaced for me.

If you are looking for a performance driven shoe not a vanity piece please look into getting these shoes if you live in B.C come down to the skate parks around 3-5pm and you will see more then one person wearing these or another model of ipaths. Lets just say any cons (i cant think of any) are out weight by the good a million times over. i originally bought these because of the environmental aspect of them and wanting to try a new brand and now these are a shoe and brand i will never switch from for my daily boarding needs.

Thanks Skate Central for your blog and your info it helps knowing what other people’s opinions are since more often then not you expect one thing and get a totally different thing when it comes to skateboarding shoes.

Hi ssc i wanted to write a review of the Element Davenports i own since they are dope.

These shoes are defiantly a skateboarders shoe they perform great and look great.

The Comfort of these shoes is great they hug your feet in a way i havent experienced before but then again im not into shoes like you are lol. there is one problem since im a wide foot they told me to buy a 9 1/2 instead of a 9 and i found they was too big length wise didnt compensate for the width at all but once you get used to it these shoes are great for not only boarding but going to school in and everything.

Boarding performance of these shoes is good and the Ollie grip is seamless so it doesnt tear apart the shoe very easily, The grip on them hold you to the board quite well also.

Pricing was abit up there but its sort of what i expect when i get a name brand that is big in the skateboard industry so the 85$ i spent was money well spent since i enjoy them.

Durability of them is great too since the ollie grip is seamless there is nothing thats gonna get caught up and cause separation of the grip. The laces are not quality but they do provide a second pair

I would recommend these shoes to starting boarders since there are alot of other shoes way better and built way more for boarding then these but these will do the job but newbies should consider these as a starter shoe.

IPath Nomad S Review

Well time for a model from one of my favorite manufacturers IPath Nomad S.

IPath is a brand like no other in the skateboard industry as unlike most brands they actually give a crap about the environment and this has caused them to create many works of art in the skate shoe world out of environmentally friendly or recycled materials. Most of the company’s who try and make shoes like this end up failing badly because of the nature of recycled materials is they are already used or the company doesnt have experience working with them.

When i think of environmentally friendly or recycled stuff i think of not as good or wont last as long, But IPath would prove you wrong day in day out with their attention to detail and quality products that last far beyond your expectations.

Comfort. The comfort level of these shoes when i bought my first pair i didnt think would be all that comfortable but i had friends who had nothing but good things to say about IPath so i decided id give them a try and since then iv never looked back or had those thoughts again. These shoes specifically are amazingly comfortable they felt like i had them specifically made for my foot right out of the box, The shape of the model fits all foot shapes thin and wide as do most IPath shoes. They have a great in sole that lasts unlike most shoes after a few months of wear in my experience. But the comfort doesnt just go to the fit of them it goes to walking in everyday life and everyday boarding i would rate these shoes within the top 5 for dual functionality comfort. comfort rating is a 5

Style. I put stock into the environmental aspect of the shoe company and into the style. These shoes have a great look to them visually and come in a variety of colors, color combos not to mention the material choice of suede felt or waxed suede. The attention to details is something IPath is known for even making their grips have cool designs like on this model with most colors (mine are coffee color like the picture) the grip comes in an off set design. Given the design quality the color and material choice and environmental aspect the Style rating is a 5.

Durability. These shoes are a multi functional shoe perfect for everyday use on boards or everyday use walking. Most IPath models especially S models have a sticky icky grip that is prominent in the fronter part of the grip for board handling and flips but also makes your grip last longer. IPath has an impeccable quality standard that even extends to their stitching, in soles, grip even their freaking laces. Iv had this specific shoe since late December and they still look brand new in after hours of board use and street wear. The Durability of these shoes is second to none in the boarding shoe industry so my Durability rating is also a 5.

Price. Sometimes this is where social responsibility and environmentally friendly isnt so good as IPath is usually more expensive then some of the other industry leaders. BUTTTT not this model and really  for the extra 10-15$ would u rather spend 10$ extra on 1 pair of shoes that will last you lets say 10 months constant use or need to buy a new pair after 3 for 10$ cheaper as this is the great part about the brand. IPaths are more expensive but are because they are built better the difference between a ferrari and a honda one is made on a factory line the other hand made (not saying they are hand made just a comparison for attention to details and the obsessiveness on perfection). This model specifically i think i paid 65$ on sale at the time they was regular 80+$ but being as they are one of my top shoes one that i would buy again and again because i know that they last and the multi functionality of them the price could be higher and still be justified. This model is only $60 on the IPath website right now and on sale thru a few other online retailers. Price rating taking everything els into consideration is a 5.

New DC Unilite Shoes

Well this is gonna be a little different, im gonna give you guys a heads up on some shoes available from DC that are awesome.

The DC Unilite Trainer

I previously purchased a pair of the father of this line of DC shoes last year the DC XT Shoe

The DC Unilite XT i previously purchased are amazingly comfortable but are far from a boarding shoe. These shoes i found was best for working out, jogging, gym etc. The inside of these shoes are amazingly comfortable with an airbag and the thickness of the material that hugs your foot. The lightweight grips on them also help with performance as 1 shoe weighs about the same as a normal pair.

The Durability wouldnt be good for board use as again these are a sports trainer not a boarding shoe i would not recommend these in any way for boarding, which is sad because of the comfort.

I Paid only 65$ for my XT shoes but that was on sale from 120$ and the new Unilite Flex trainers are only 80$ i imagine it isnt because of cheap quality but because they found a easier process to make them. I would recommend the XT model to anyone looking for a great trainer sports shoe.

Again i have not tried the new Unilite Trainers yet but everything they have is as good or better then the XT unilite model i bought last summer (which are still going strong and are like new as i only wear them working out and jogging)

The new Unilite Trainer comes in 3 different styles PSI+Flex Trainer, Unilite Trainer, and the Unilite Flex Trainer, The PSI model is about 50$ more expensive coming in at 130$ but thats because of the grip having multiple airbags in them. The Style aspect of these shoes are awesome too with many different color combo’s and compare to any nike/adidas trainer in style range.

So if you are looking for a new workout sports trainer i would give these a try. The quality of the XT a previous style of these shoes was amazing and i couldnt imagine that these wouldnt surpass the quality of those. They will be my next purchase for the workout shoe in august and i welcome any comments or feedback from owners of these.

Trip To Local Skate Park Reviews

Well i spent a few hours at my local skate park and after a few hours of having fun i decided what a great chance to find out what others are wearing.
I talked to a few people who all had different opinions on what made a great skate shoe and what would they consider their favorite past or present skate shoe, and of course i got a ton of different answers. So out of all the people i talked too i am going to exclude the ones who said style is what makes a great skate shoe, or brand, brcause i personally feel that a shoe could look like crap but if it performs as advertised and helps me in being a better boarder then thats all that matters, And comapny brand is really just a preference everyone has their favorites mine are ipath and DC.
The two best convos i had was with a 15 year old who was doing some amazing ariels and grinds. When i was able to catch up with him we talked about boards and shoes he says that the best boards being made right now in his opinion are by Alien Workshop his deck of choice being a Rob Drydek pro deck. His shoe of choice was the Fallen Trooper model he said that the shoe is a snug fit shoe with perfect gripping and great ollie pads. Not to mention they are very stylish with an awesome design.
The second person i chatted with thats info was worth listening too wasn’t boarding today he was using the bmx foam pit but still had some useful info and good opinions about the need for quality footwear that perform properly.
He was wearing IPath’s Ashbury model and had nothing but praise to say about them. The multi purpose multi functional use for them is awesome and worth the money, they may not be flashy he said but they perform and wearing them he knows when he is relying on his shoes to standup to the riggers of the sport he knows IPath will always react as expected. He was riding an Eastern bmx and recommends that brand of bmx for young or new riders for its quality and cost.
One thing both people brought up that i had never thought of was what type of socks you are wearing well boarding makes a difference on the experience you will have with some brands/models of shoes. So keep that in mind if you are having problems with your shoe comfort well boarding it could be the socks you have on.

Lakai Brea Review

I got these shoes as a gift on my birthday and had not heard of the brand but found out that they are pretty awesome the Lakai Brea

Comfort. These are another skate shoe that has great comfort aspects too it from the arches to the in sole and the tongue conform when it rests on your foot. They are perfect for walking and  daily use or boarding all day as like with IPath they are a great multi functional design with very good performance abilities. These shoes would be perfect for the wide footed person or the narrow footed person since i found that they mold to your foot after a little use. Comfort Rating 4.5

Style. Well this model is obviously a minimalist design but does come in a bunch of different colors. With all the free space on the shoes if you know a good air brush artist you could pimp these shoes out easily to look awesome. But with any minimalist design shoe there isnt much to talk about on the style aspect. Style Rating 3

Durability. I personally have not worn these shoes enough to be able to speak on the durability of these shoes, But i have read a bunch of reviews of them and it seems like everyone says they are built well and last long alot of the down sides from other brand models are not prevalent in these shoes and they will last for awhile wether boarding or walking. Durability rating based on others opinions 4

Price. Well at the local skate shops in my town they try and charge alot for these shoes closer to 120$ and higher, I dont know if thats to do with them being different models or if they just trying to jack the price up but i do know this specific model on the lakai website is only 62$ and from my experience so far if i hadn’t gotten them for free i would defiantly buy them for that price as they are great shoes. Every Year i go thru my shoes and find the ones i wont wear again or that are slightly used and donate them to charity.

This year i will be donating a good portion of my collection aswell as my fellow reviewers, between this charity and a couple others i will be donating over 190 pairs of shoes (most a few seasons old) but some are new in the box that i wont wear anymore etc. If you have shoes in wearable condition that you will no longer be using i encourage you to find a charity that does this type of thing and donate to them rather then other places. Look for charity’s that are sending clothing to third world countries and help them help the world, it gives you good karma and a great feeling to know you helped a kid who may not of had shoes or had cardboard tied to his feet actually have a proper pair of kicks to wear in his time of struggle and need.

They do not need to be skate shoes at all as long as they are in wearable condition this can make a big difference and help those less fortunate.

Please find it in your heart to help with something you dont need anymore and has no value to you, something with no value to you mite mean the world to them.

DC Villian Review

Well the DC Villain i wouldnt really call a skate shoe but it is made by a skate brand and i own them so i figured id write a review.

Grey is shoe Red is Slipper also available in womans shoe

The shoes are more of a fashion / dressier shoe rather then a skate shoe, In no way would i wear these for skateboarding but none the less they are comfortable and stylish.

Comfort. These shoes are more of a walking/driving shoe or for wearing with nicer clothes, They are very comfortable well wearing not so well walking for longer distance as the mesh lining will wear on your feet and cause blisters. The shoe its self is more of a casual wear shoe not overly designed for boarding or long wear use thus i only give it a comfort rating of 2.5

Style. Style is where these shoes score points as they come in many different color combos and designs with a laceless look. They also have a Womans design of these shoes and a Slipper design. I own both the shoes and slippers and they give you added Style even when not trying too you could be wearing a bathrobe and the slippers and have a style look to ya lol. The Shoes do match with alot of different types of dress and come in patterns/colors that compliment any dress wear. Style rating is 4

Durability. The Durability of these shoes is OK it isnt great and do not last as long as most shoes but i dont really have any other shoes in this i guess category to compare them too, The slipper version of this shoe is pretty well made and looks great the sole of them feels cheap but they do stay intact for along time just the insole does wear down and not have the springiness to them after awhile. As for the shoe i had mine start to separate at the sole line after wearing them for an extended period of time (few months of off on wear) Durability rating is a 3.

Price. The Slipper price when i bought them wasnt too crazy the original price was $40 i got them on sale for $25 but i noticed today the slipper price was on for 12-15$, As for the shoes they also wasnt super expensive. When i bought mine i believe i paid 55$ now they are on DC’s website for 45$ but i have seen them alot cheaper thru other online retailers. For the price they arnt a bad shoe to buy even though the quality and functionality may not be the best they are nice for wearing when you need to dress up like for a job interview and along those lines. Price rating is a 4

Ipath Shoes To Buy

I have been looking into new models of shoes released recently or upcoming from my favorite companies and IPath is one of those companies that has a couple great new models or model updates coming out.

The Grasshopper XT is one of the new models that is based on their hitop classic, The lines and look are based off some of their most popular models with a modern look, materials and technology.

When buying these models you can always rest assured that you are getting a top quality product made with environmentally friendly materials and is a multi functional platform perfect for daily wear and daily boarding use. As with every IPath model you can expect the shoes to perform with perfection out lasting you and out performing your expectations, If you can do it these shoes can handle it boarding wise. They come with the Sticky Icky grip and EVA footbeds and are styled to resemble the classic IPath look. They currently only come in 4 color combo’s but i would expect there to eventually be more added to that, Not to mention the 4 that are available are nice on the eyes.

Another great model update/release from IPath is the Artisan S model.

Clearly one of their minimalist designs only coming in 3 basic color choices they are built to last and priced to afford.

There is also a model that again is based off of the original IPath look The Cat model which has another model based off of its design the Cat Rod S Matt Rodriguez Signature model.

With Signature models you know for sure 1000000000% they are designed to perform skateboarding and never need to worry about the quality or performance of them as they are designed with the riders input and his needs in mind.

These are just a couple of the great IPath models available for all your skateboarding, life and style needs that you can purchase on their website or in local skate shops near you given IPath’s quality and reputation i could not see you going wrong with any of these models and would recommend you looking for them the next time you are out to buy some kicks.
